Terms & Conditions
1. Studio Premises & Safeguarding
- Arrival Time & Doorbell Policy: Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time. Lessons run back-to-back, and ringing the doorbell early interrupts the ongoing session with the preceding student. Please refrain from ringing the doorbell until 5 minutes prior to your allocated start time.
- Studio Access & Waiting Policy: Please note that there is no designated waiting area for parents or guardians at the studio premises. For trial lessons, one parent or guardian is permitted to sit in as a one-off. For ongoing lessons, sitting in or waiting on the premises is not encouraged. Having another adult in the room can change the lesson dynamic, affect a student’s focus, and interrupt the natural development of independence and the student-teacher relationship. If you feel an exception to this approach is necessary for your child, please get in touch so we can discuss and agree upon an arrangement in advance.
- Safeguarding: For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian is responsible for the student’s safety to and from the studio. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a parent or guardian must ensure the student is safely dropped off and collected promptly at the scheduled lesson time. If a student is to travel to or from the studio independently (whether as a regular arrangement or a one-off instance), the parent/guardian must notify Noah Stone Music in writing (email or text). By providing this notice, the parent/guardian accepts full responsibility for the student’s safety outside of the studio premises.
2. Lesson Booking, Cancellations & Schedule Changes
- Booking Availability: All lesson times, including regular weekly slots, trial lessons, and rescheduled lessons, are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. A slot is only secured once explicit confirmation has been made or, where applicable, payment has been received.
- Cancellations & Rescheduling: To cancel or request a change to your scheduled lesson time, you must provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice via email. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the fee for that lesson. In cases of sudden illness or emergencies within the 48-hour window, any rescheduling or fee waivers are at the sole discretion of Noah Stone Music.
3. Holidays & Long-Term Absences
If you plan to be away for two weeks or more (e.g., school holidays or vacations), please provide at least two weeks' notice via email. This allows for the scheduling of one-off sessions for other students and ensures your regular time slot is held for your return.
4. Payment Terms
- Block Booking: Lessons are billed in blocks of six. This block secures your recurring weekly time slot. An invoice for the subsequent block will be issued upon completion of the 6th lesson of your current block.
- New Students: For new students starting their first block of six lessons, payment must be settled in full before the first scheduled lesson takes place.
- Due Date & Method: Invoices are due within 14 days of issue and must be settled via Bank Transfer.
- Alternative Arrangements: I am committed to making music education accessible. If the upfront cost of a 6-lesson block is a barrier for you, please contact me directly to discuss alternative payment solutions or installment plans.
- Late Payments: To maintain your reserved weekly time slot, payment must be settled within the 14-day window. Missed payments may result in the suspension of lessons and the loss of your dedicated time slot.
5. Equipment & Environment
- Studio Lessons: Students are expected to treat studio equipment with respect. Any damage caused by negligence will be the responsibility of the student or their guardian.
- Filming & Recording: Filming, taking photographs, and audio recording are strictly prohibited on the premises and during lessons unless explicit permission has been given by Noah Stone Music.
6. Liability
Noah Stone Music shall not be held liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur during lessons. Students participate at their own risk.
7. Intellectual Property
All lesson materials (worksheets, exercises, and recordings) provided by Noah Stone Music are for the student's personal use only and may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without explicit permission.
8. Termination of Lessons & Refunds
- By Noah Stone Music: Noah Stone Music reserves the right to terminate lessons due to reasons including, but not limited to, repeated cancellations, non-payment, or inappropriate behavior.
- By the Student/Guardian: You may terminate lessons at any time by providing a minimum of two weeks' written notice via email. Following notice, lessons will continue until the end of the current paid block, at which point the termination will take effect.
- Refunds: No refunds are issued for remaining lessons if you choose to terminate mid-block. If a student decides to stop attending before the current block concludes, any remaining fees for that block are forfeited.
9. Price Increases
Noah Stone Music reserves the right to review and increase lesson fees. Existing students will be provided with at least one month’s written notice via email before any price increase takes effect.
